Mark is a uniquely talented artist, using his violin to take you on an emotional journey, full of rich colours and textures, drawing on dazzling array of influences and genres.
Mark’s leading reputation in French Dance music was illustrated by being invited to be a featured artist in TRAD Magazine, which was France and Bal Folk’s leading Traditional Dance Music publication. Mark is one of only a handful of British born musicians ever to have been so honoured. His two solo albums have been excellently received, sitting alongside his numerous other collaborative recorded work.
Mark is delighted to be back in the Stony area again, and proud to be able to once again contribute to the Stony Stratford musical scene. Previously, he was active here over many years, initially through the paternal support of Matt Armour, spending time playing in his legendary group the Gaberlunzies. He is well known for his long term collaboration with Clive Williams as Vivant.
Mark’s repertoire continues to grow and develop, enhanced through his moves to South Wales and Northern Ireland, and through his ongoing collaborations with European based artists such as Philippe Plard and his other regular duo, Deux Sans Frontieres.
Today will be a rare opportunity to hear Mark’s material solo, in an intimate setting where the colours and nuances of his music can be given full rein. You are in for a treat.
