Act-Out & Act-Up young persons’ drama groups

Weekly term-time drama groups for young people to provide sessions at a
minimal cost for parents, needing no auditions to qualify for a place. ACT OUT is
aimed at 6-10yrs, ACT UP is for 11-16yrs (the cross over usually being the child’s
move up to secondary education) and accessible to all levels and abilities, both
sessions will cover theatrical skills in acting, storytelling and spoken word, directing,
producing, writing, stage-management, dance and singing.
The core philosophy is to build vital life skills through performance practice and
cultivating a safe and fun environment to encourage development of cooperation,
communication, confidence and problem solving.
ACT OUT & ACT UP takes place at York House Centre, Stony Stratford, on
Thursday afternoons during term time.
ACT OUT 4.30– 5.30pm
ACT UP 5.40 – 6.40pm
Leaders will be in from 4.15pm and until 6.45pm.
The sessions are run by Terrie Howey, on behalf of Red Phoenix Storytelling &
Productions in partnership with York House Centre. Terrie has experience facilitating
workshops for young people and has been recognised internationally as
skilled performer and creator of entertainment events.
Occasionally guest leaders will be invited in to demonstrate specialist skills.
£35.00 per term*
£3.50 per session
