York House Arts For All

York House Arts For All offers a magical opportunity for families to paint and create all manner of things on chosen themes.

The “big one” happens every October and, thanks to Stony Stratford Town Council, Milton Keynes Community foundation, and York House’s own LocalGiving fund, the event is free for all.

Our current artists-in-charge are Michelle Buckland and Angela Carel, who have created tableaux and cut-outs for “Arts Go Wild in the Country” and “Frankenstein’s Workshop”.

The next York House Arts for All event will be In October 2019 (check nearer the time for confirmation of the date). Join us on Facebook at ‘York House Arts for All’

Arts for All Success
‘Beside the Seaside’ at York House Centre!

Another fantastic York House Arts for All!  A busy day with hundreds of families joining us at York House Centre for an art-tastic experience…

Local artists, Michelle Buckland and Angela Carel, transformed York House into a seaside paradise with a beach backdrop and even a Punch & Judy tent!  There were a wide range of arty activities based around the theme – loads of seaside creatures, seagulls and shells to colour-in and paint; postcards; bunting, swimming costumes and trunks to decorate and hang up on the washing line around the hall; make your own seashell mirror; paint a rock; make a seaside plate scene; puppets for the Punch & Judy;  icing octopus biscuits; face-painting and t-shirt printing and loads more….  The creativity flowed from people of all ages – from tiny tots to those more advancing in years – and a fabulous time was had by all.  We were delighted to welcome the Mayor of Milton Keynes, Martin Petchey, and we thank him for his interest in the event and for taking the time to chat with everyone; we hope he had as much fun as we did.

We are grateful to Stony Stratford Town Council, Milton Keynes Community Foundation and the York House Centre LocalGiving.Com Fund for their generous funding.  Added to the money raised via the Volunteer Cafe, paid activities and bucket donations, this allows these events to be FREE for everyone (including materials), giving the opportunity to all families to play and create together.

A massive thank you to all our volunteers (the York House Arts Crew) who give so freely of their time to help everyone enjoy the day and to everyone who baked cakes and ran the Volunteer Cafe to keep the masses fed and watered!
