Stony Tracks – Guest Ian Welborn

Derek Gibbons in conversation with a local guest, reminiscing about life, showing photographs, and playing his favourite music.

Ian was born in York in 1947 and grew up in the Joseph Rowntree village of New Earswick. After attending a York grammar school, he completed his degrees at London and Hull Universities. He is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist who has worked mainly in Training and Development and Psychological Assessment, initially for large organisations. He then set up his own consultancy business which he ran for nearly 30 years, working widely in both the public and private sectors. He moved with his wife, Michèle, to Stony in 1999 “mainly for the music!” He is involved with organising Stony Live and Stony Lights. His other passions include Morris dancing and singing shanties.
