Privacy Policy

We collect certain information or data about you when you use our website or contact us to become a member, make enquiries to York House, book room hire, buy event tickets or buy tickets for activities at York House Centre (YHC).

We Collect:-

  • The data you fill in on the enquiry form or your User Group contact sheet
  • The data you give us when you attend one of our Community Projects
  • The data you fill in on the membership form.
  • When you use our website, we collect your IP address and details of which version of web browser you used, plus information on how you use the site (using cookies).

This data can be viewed by authorised staff for the legitimate business interests of York House Centre which in this case is to:

  • Administer our service.
  • To promote your event (if applicable and with your direct permission)
  • Send you newsletters and occasional emails about upcoming events and activities. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link which you will find at the foot of each newsletter.

Membership

If you become a member of and/or a volunteer for YHC you will receive ad hoc emails notifying you of upcoming events and activities, and requests for volunteering help. You can stop being a member or volunteer at any time by replying to the email to ask. You may wish to resign your membership if you move away form the area or are no longer interested in supporting YHC.

Where Your Data is Stored

We store your data on secure servers in the European Economic Area (EEA) and on a password protected PC within a locked office.

We may also store your data in a filing cabinet in a locked office or in a locked cupboard.

We also use a third-party emailing service (MailChimp.com) to deliver some of the content and marketing emails. MailChimp stores your data on servers outside of the EEA and has their own privacy policy which is available here. We will share only the information necessary to send you emails with that provider. You can opt out of those emails at any time by using the “unsubscribe” link in each email. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this.

Keeping Your Data Secure

Sending information over the internet is generally not completely secure, and we can’t guarantee the security of your data while it’s in transit.

Any data you send to us via email is at your own risk.

We have procedures and security features in place to keep your data secure once we receive it.

We will only store your data until 12 months after your event booking or room hire. We will only store your membership data for as long as you wish to be a member of York House.

Disclosing Your Information

We will only pass on your personal information if we have a legal obligation to do so.

We will not share your information with any other organisations for marketing, market research or commercial purposes, and we won’t pass on your details to other companies or websites.

If you are organising a public event, hobby group or workshop at York House Centre you may wish us to share some of your data to facilitate event bookings, we will only do this with your direct permission.
