York House Arts for All
York House Arts for All is an annual FREE all-day arts project for all ages and abilities which sees hundreds of people coming together at York House Centre for a day of art-tastic fun, led by professional artists and supported by our ever-willing team of volunteers.
Every year we choose a theme for the project and base a range of activities around it e.g. Pop-Up High Street, What the Mummy Saw (Ancient Egyptians), Beside the Seaside… You can join in with the theme and activities or just use the equipment and materials provided to create your own masterpiece.
A Volunteer Café runs throughout the day for hot & cold drinks and homemade cakes and there are also a few paid activities (e.g. t-shirt decorating, face-painting) to help raise funds to support the project.
The events are drop-in between 10am and 4pm – no booking necessary.
York House Arts for All events enrich the lives of all the people who take part by providing an imaginative and artistic opportunity for local people of all ages and abilities in a supportive, creative environment. Everyone has the option to work alongside our professional artists who are on hand all day for ideas, help and encouragement. The fact that this event is FREE to all is very important to us, it encourages community cohesion and the all-day drop-in format means that people can come and go as they please. Often, children come in the morning and don’t want to leave! It is an established annual event (running since 2010) attended by many local families, who come back year after year, making memories to cherish.
A BIG thank you to our artists and volunteers; to the Trustees & Staff at York House Centre and to our funders – Stony Stratford Town Council, Milton Keynes Community Foundation and the York House Local Giving Fund.
The next Arts for All FREE family arts workshop will be on Saturday 10 October 2020 – see you there!
