African Drumming for All
Victor Ola
This session will offer members of the community an introduction to playing congas, djembes and a standard drum kit and how to infuse it into modern music. The aim is to be creative, expressive and most importantly to have fun!
This session is suitable for complete beginners
Three things you will gain from attending:
1)Learn the basics of drumming which could lead to professional playing.
2)Gain an understanding of cultural music and how to apply basic techniques to modern genres.
3)An outlet to participants so that they can express themselves.
No need to bring anything – just turn up and enjoy!
This session is run by Victor Ola – Victor is Nigerian and learnt to play drums from a very young age. He has a passion for anything musical and is offering his skills and experience to inspire others as well as bring culture and diversity to our local community. He finds music very therapeutic and would like to give others an opportunity to express themselves freely.
