Lantern Procession 2019

Sat 30 Nov 2019

03:15 PM - 05:00 PM

The stunning culmination of this year’s Stony Stratford Lantern Project is the Lantern Procession from York House Centre to the Market Square.  As darkness falls, the lanterns are lit, and the procession makes its way through the crowd-lined streets of Stony Stratford to the Market Square in time for the switching-on of the Christmas lights…magical!

Meet at York House from 3.15pm to collect your lanterns, the procession leaves at 4.15pm
[route = London Road, High Street, Church Street, Market Square]
the lights are switched on in the Market Square at 5pm (followed by carol singing).

At York House there will be live music from the Concrete Calves Woodwind Band and we’ll be selling mulled cider and soft drinks to raise some funds for the project.

There will also be a bucket collection for donations to the World Land Trust (registered charity 1001291) to support our rainforest theme.

If you haven’t made a lantern then come along and watch the procession –  we bet it will make you want to join in next year!!
