Stony Stratford Lantern Parade from York House

All Lantern-Makers to meet at York House from 3.15pm to collect your lanterns or bring your lanterns along if you’ve made them at home. If you’ve made your lanterns at home, DON’T FORGET the bamboo cane which was provided with your kit, the Volunteers will be happy to attach it for you if you need help. There’ll be music from the Concrete Calves Woodwind Band and funky beats from Panacea Samba. Mulled cider and refreshments will be on sale with all profit going towards future Lantern Projects. As darkness falls, the lanterns are lit and the parade leaves York House Centre at 4.15pm to make its way through the crowd-lined streets of Stony Stratford to the Market Square in time for the switching-on of the Christmas lights at 5pm – magical!
If you haven’t made a lantern this year, you can still bring your family along to line the parade route and watch hundreds of fantastic lanterns go past down London Road, along the High Street and Church Street and then to the Market Square to join in with the Switch-On festivities!
NOTE – there is no parking available at York House Centre on Switch-On Day
