Jane was born in Colombia, where her Scottish father was teaching English and was subsequently recruited by The British Council. Despite being posted all over the world, she was able to study for the British education system, and subsequently worked in TV production in Canada, ATV and the BBC, before becoming an International Conference Organiser. She then met and married her wonderful husband Matt Armour, moving to Stony Stratford in 1984 and still working at the Open University as Reprints Editor. When Jane retired, she helped Matt run The Song Loft, and although Matt is no longer with us she still helps her colleagues run this very successful live music venue.
